What We Do

The Gladstein Family Human Rights Institute’s events and communications team connects our community with the people, ideas, research, and opportunities that advance human rights at UConn and beyond.

Through a wide range of public programs, lectures, conferences, workshops, film screenings, and other events, we create opportunities for students, faculty, staff, and community members to engage with critical human rights issues and scholarship. Explore our upcoming events and programs on the HRI Events Calendar.

Our communications share the work of the Institute and its community across digital platforms. From the latest research and program updates to funding opportunities, events, and stories from across HRI, our News page, email communications, and social media channels offer several ways to stay connected with the Institute.

Updates in Your Inbox

Keep up to date on all HRI’s activities by subscribing to one of our email lists.

Our primary publication is our Weekly Digest—a curated collection of our most recent news, upcoming events, and announcements—delivered to your inbox each week during the academic year.

For those looking for less frequent updates, we recommend our Newsletter, which rounds up our major stories periodically for a wider audience.

Subscribers may also elect to hear from any of our individual focus areas for updates on the topics and events of specific relevance to them. Whatever your interest, we have a mailing list to keep you in the loop!

Stay Connected on Socials

We share news, event highlights, research, insights, and opportunities throughout the year on our social media.

Follow us on your favorite platforms and be part of the conversation.
